About Brice
Hi… so, a little about me…
I’m a US Marine Corp veteran and a Purple Heart recipient (my wife forced me to add that last part).
I started writing my first novel, Whiskey Jack, during the long hours of down time before in garrison and while deployed way back in 2000.
Over time, I eventually finished both my time in service and the book.
Since then, I’ve had a lot of different jobs. Everything from earning a journeyman status as a pewter-smith to being a shift-supervisor at a chemical plant for agricultural products.
All great careers that taught me a lot about life outside the military.
I obtained an English degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
I’m currently a journalist/editor for one of the local newspapers in my area!
About writing…
I’ve always enjoyed great stories and gaming. So, way back in high school a few of my friends and I decided to start writing an epic book that combined our love for D&D, video games, manga/anime, and action/adventure movies.
Shining Darkness is the result.
When I’m not working on another next end-of-the-world scenario or out covering a community event or high school sport, I’m helping my wife who is a professional photographer.
(I’m usually a test subject or carrying around lighting equipment. Sometimes I get to take pics!)
I still play games whenever I can, any RPG or Fortnite with my daughters.
Indiana Jones, Mad Max, and Conan were some of my biggest influences from the movie world, but nowadays I love anything with a good story.
I consider post-apocalyptic and LitRPG my favorites to read and write.
I’ve had stories appear in several anthologies.
My wife and I currently reside in smalltown next to the Mississippi River in Missouri under the harsh rule of their three daughters.
